Some of the best research is NOT always happening on Wall Street. It’s happening on blogs! I believe that the future of equity research should have a blog related component which has distinct advantages - i.e. timelines and intelligence over I-Banks research. While equity research remains geared to institutional investors, many individual investors have withdrawn from brokeage firms high commission’s costs, questioning old ways of thinking and legacy processes.
