EOD Commentary: Stocks closed sharply higher … after a wild final hour of trading … Thursday following a report that EU central banks are preparing coordinated action to provide liquidity after the Greek election. The day’s rally was initially fueled by hopes that the … Fed might come up with another round of stimulus on the heels of some weak economic reports.
RegMed stocks continued to claw … higher in thin trading Thursday, with the usual leaders but, where … where all the other suspects … at least we have … more advances to … <very> past … highs! The CBOE Volitility Index is still high … near 24.
The key is news … OSIR seems to be the … universe’s news maker and any gain breaker … a number of RegMed stocks moved … higher having been either down or flat … through the mid-day report. Tengion (TNGN) lead the way, up $1.11 and Verastem (VSTM) followed up $1.06; while Osiris (OSIR) was up $1.00, and Dendreon (DNDN) up at $0.44. Aastrom (ASTM) was up $0.02 and Athersys (ATHX) appeared from <down-days> nowhere up $0.07.
