Stock index futures held small gains on Thursday, 12/29/11 withItaly’s borrowing costs decreasing as it sold another round of government bonds in a test of market confidence, and as investors awaited the latest round of weekly US jobless-claims data.
Futures on the Dow rose 22 points and S&P 500 Index futures were up 1.9 points, while NASDAQ 100 futures added 3 points.
EU stock markets bounced around in thin trading, as investors indicated that the results of a key Italian debt auction could have been much worse. Asian equity markets ended mostly lower, as concerns about EU’s debt crisis keep investors sidelined in a quiet trading session
